Periodically, RAC recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional and sustained support for our advocacy for improved accessibility features for people with disabilities. With their generous commitments of time, energy or other resources, these individuals become a part of RAC’s good will and good faith outreach for the common good within the community.
Audrey C. Clark, Fairfax County Building Official and Director of Building Plan Review and Inspections Division. Award citation: “Presented to Audrey C. Clark upon her retirement from the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services with gratitude for her unfailing and effective professional commitment to the societal rights of persons with disabilities in the built environment.” Presented April 17, 2015.
Leila Gordon, Executive Director, Reston Community Center, at a meeting of Rotary Club of Reston. Award citation: “Presented to Leila Gordon, Executive Director, Reston Community Center, for her welcoming, unfailing support of Reston Accessibility Committee and all people with disabilities by advocacy for accessible parking spaces at Hunters Woods Village Center, and for her leadership in the Center’s co-sponsorship of Reston Citizens Association community forums on accessibility in 2010 and 2012.” Presented May 22, 2013.
Milton W. Matthews, CEO, Reston Association (RA), on an evening of tributes as he was about to leave RA for a new home in Maryland. Award citation: “Presented to Milton W. Marion B. Stillson, former president of Reston Citizens Association (RCA), at the celebration of her being named Reston Citizen of the Year by RCA. Award citation: “Presented to Marion B.
